Chlorpheniramine maleate 113-92-8 Usage

Chlorpheniramine maleate (CPM) is a histamine H1 receptor antagonist with an IC75 value of 0.0016 μg/ml for reversal of histamine-induced spasms in isolated guinea pig ileum. It has been used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. Chlorpheniramine maleate is a racemic mixture of optical isomers. It is an odorless, white crystalline solid. Analysis of chlorpheniramine maleate has been determined for carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and chlorine.

Chlorphenamine maleate (CP) is an antihistamine used to treat the symptoms of allergic situations such as rhinitis (hay fever) [2]. CP is generally combined with other drugs such as acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine HCl, ascorbic acid, and caffeine to minimize the symptoms of cold and flu.
